At our offices in Charleston, TN, we are currently looking for a(n) Director of Mechanical Integrity.. This strategic role will establish, direct, and oversee the Mechanical Integrity (MI) and Asset Reliability program and regional service center. This role will be responsible for the overall program management of critical process equipment to ensure design, installation and proper maintenance programs maintain and/or exceed compliance with regulatory and Company requirements. The major job tasks are to develop, implement and supervise global, regional, local harmonized MI programs to meet regulatory compliance, especially MI related OSHA/PSM compliance for all Wacker locations in the NCA region. The director will ensure a cost efficient and measurable program design with plans and procedures for safety, integrity and equipment availability. The Director, Mechanical Integrity will have functional reporting lines to Regional PSM Director and the Global Competence Center MI (Germany), with regulatory interfaces to global/local MI counterparts (Asia, U.S.). Your Tasks Direct and oversee the Mechanical Integrity program for all WACKER NCA locations. More specifically:. Develop, implement and supervise regional, local harmonized MI programs to meet regulatory compliance, especially MI related OSHA/PSM compliance for all Wacker locations in NCA region in cooperation with global Wacker MI Competence Center. Serve as the subject matter expert regarding MI related RAGAGEP and equipment specific integrity management.. Serve as the subject matter expert regarding codes, standards, and practices for fixed equipment as well as rotating equipment.. Be prepared to advise as necessary with respect to new equipment design, fabrication, and installation.. Lead and develop the team(s) responsible for the MI component of Asset Reliability (located in CHA with NCA wide responsibility), Fixed Equipment Compliance, QA/QC and Materials.. Assume ownership of deficiency correction and assure timely correction of identified anomalies. Serve as the subject matter expert regarding damage mechanism identification and documentation. Reporting progress against plan and budget. Communicate integrity-related risks to management and provide leadership to the Engineering Teams to ensure alignment with NCA and Technical objectives. Evaluate and apply new technologies when supported by a business case. Drive continual improvement through anomaly correction, failure analysis, and peer engagement for NCA region. Lead troubleshooting, root cause failure analysis, address equipment deficiencies through corrective actions and track results. Identify and manage asset reliability risks for safety and integrity. Determine and coordinate End of Life Planning for rotating/reciprocating machinery (long term replacement) to avoid unscheduled failures. Manage machinery related engineering guidance documents such as procedures, standards, work instructions, etc. and provide training, as needed. Monitor and ensure compliance of ITPMs (Inspection, Test and Preventative Maintenance). Support machinery spare parts management program. Provide MI related support for machinery focused capital project development and implementation. Provide management to WACKER direct reports and direction to identified contractors providing MI services. Define resource strategies including contractor personnel or external service providers (TUEV) in cooperation with local internal customers in Operations, Engineering & Maintenance. Supervise qualification for inspection and testing personnel. Ensure compliance with industry relevant regulations, codes, standards and industry best practices (including OSHA, EPA, API, ANSI, etc.), and quality requirements, as applicable to the site/region. Manage MI related communication with Federal and State authorities to ensure compliance. Responsible for methods of inspections and testing and frequencies of inspections and testing. Promote safety culture through personal behavior and commitment. Provide support to Process Safety Management and Mechanical Integrity programs. Delegate or perform audits to ensure effectiveness of mechanical integrity systems at WCC sites in the NCA Region on periodic basis or at the discretion of WCC management. Manage written procedures describing inspection and/or testing activities. Ensure appropriate MI information governance by maintaining and approving ITPM documentation requirements and adhering to an appropriate record retention schedule. Your Profile Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required. Masters degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines preferred. Expert knowledge regarding material science and corrosion is a plus. Minimum of 15 years' experience in mechanical integrity related work is required, preferably in an asset integrity/inspection execution role; twenty (20) years or more is strongly preferred.. Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in MI, Maintenance and Asset Reliability best practices covering predictive maintenance for petrochemical and/or chemical plants.. Demonstrated experience in planning, implementing, and executing a Mechanical Integrity program. Demonstrated experience in identifying and mitigating equipment integrity risks. Expertise in project management and cost estimation. Exceptional leadership, ownership and communication skills. Demonstrated leadership and audit experience in MI management positions in the chemical or petrochemical industry. Expertise in knowledge-base and application of RAGAGEP. Several years of experience at PSM and RMP covered facilities is a must. Strong knowledge of digitalization tools and asset data management software (e.g. SAP, Meridium, eMOC). Knowledge and understanding of PSM. Strong knowledge regarding PSM (especially the MI element), safe work practices, hazard identification and awareness, and reliability / MI related incident investigation and root cause analysis.. Proactive work attitude with deep field experience and the willingness to work independently and team oriented in a dynamic Plant environment. Willing and able to work collaboratively in a global team-based environment.. Knowledge of chemical manufacturing process equipment, troubleshooting, failure analysis and maintenance practices.. Strong engineering, analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills. Familiarity with asset data management tools and experience in the ability to identify trends through data evaluation for reliability analysis. SAP experience will be preferred.. Familiar with reliability tools and techniques such as RCA, RCM, FMEA, preventive maintenance and predictive technologies. Effective time management, organizational, and record keeping skills. Familiarity with office software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Capability to professionally deal with changing priorities and requirements. Physical ability to work on industrial equipment, incl. frequent climbing of stairs and ladders in a chemical plant environment and for regional/global business travels. Ability to wear personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (hard hat, safety glasses, safety boots and hearing protection).. Participation in trade organizations such as API, AFPM, ACC etc. regarding reliability and MI related efforts is a plus. Participation in and contribution to CCPS publications associated with reliability and MI is a plus.
