The Environmental Health & Safety Technical Advisor will demonstrate leadership in communicating Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, technical support, training, and project management for the development of environmental, health, and safety strategies.
  • Facilitate injury prevention programs (including workers compensation)
  • Assure interface and integration between assigned business teams, engineering/product definition, new process integration, medical, and the EHS group
  • Lead and build positive relationships with diverse teams of hourly and management employees
  • Integrate safety, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, compliance assurance, and care for the environment into all aspects of managing the business.
  • Manage center of excellence (business/plant) environmental risk, and compliance with Title V air permit, RCRA TSD permit, NPDES permit, EPCRA reporting, DOT, & others within the assigned area.
  • Lead the development and execution of EHS annual plans and VPP programs.
  • Provide technical resources, EHS data analysis, and interpretation of regulations.
  • Audit for compliance to regulatory compliance, business strategic programs, and risk reduction initiatives.


  • Bachelor's Degree in an EHS related technical field.
  • GSP, ASP, CSP certifications preferred

Desired Characteristics:

  • Minimum of 7 years of EHS professional work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with heavy manufacturing environments
  • Strong team building, oral and written communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as external organizations (including regulatory agencies)
  • Strong analytical skills, structured problem solving (six sigma, lean, A3, systems safety) experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations.
  • Working knowledge of industrial hygiene methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of human and organization performance methodologies.
