Installs and repairs control and distribution apparatus, including motors, relays, switches, thermostats, circuit-breaker panels, transformers, and all equipment dealing with high voltage electrical distribution.
Installs and connects power supply wiring, cables, and conduit in new and existing facilities.
Diagnoses and resolves problems in electrical distribution, electrical circuits, and systems using testing equipment and instruments.
Tests continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of components. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit using rulers, measuring devices, hand tools, pipe threader, and conduit bender.
Passes on to other workers instructions received from supervisor, and starts work (e.g., by assigning the immediate tasks to be performed by individual members of the group led).
Insures that needed plans, blueprints, material, and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
Answers workers' questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directive (e.g., technical orders).
