About the role
We are looking for a Drilling Coordinator- Hydro/TWS
This position is responsible for:
Daily supervision for contractor drilling and field operation being carried out by rotary, core, sonic and horizontal drill rigs, site inspections, drill pad construction, road improvements and pump installations.
Evaluating and monitoring contractor safety systems in accordance with RT drilling and safety standards is a key responsibility.
Planning and supervision of the drill campaign, which currently provides all samples needed for modeling geology, geotechnical attributes, grade, metallurgy, water levels and hydraulic properties is a core function.This data is responsible for defining the resource and hydrology used as input for mine designs.
The position has no direct reports but is responsible for coordinating contractors carrying out drilling, borehole geophysical studies, pump contractors & technicians, drill fluid engineering, road & pad construction.
Drilling contractors operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The Drill coordinator will be required to work a rotating shift to support supervision.
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
5+ Years Rotary/Core Drilling Operations: Demonstrated ability to safely plan and supervise drilling operations is a fundamental requirement for this position.
5+ Years of Proven Leadership Experience: Well-developed sense of urgency and a conviction to maintain safety operational compliance. Ability to implement and manage continuous improvement processes.
Hydrological Testing Knowledge: Intermediate understanding of testing options (open/ cased hole, packers, air lift, slug and recovery) and how the various methods are related to drilling, timing and project goals.
Geologic Logging Skills: Ability to assess geologic and geophysical logging perform QC of initial logging function, and to assure acquisition of quality samples.
Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint programs is essential.Helpful skills would include Mine Site and acQuire.
Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
