The Safety Technical Trainer will perform a variety of work relating to the development, delivery and administration of safety training as specified by local publications derived from OSHA General Industry and OSHA Construction Industry, along with NFPA 70E and various ANSI standards and other applicable regulations. They will coordinate with instructors both locally and across the NNL program to Advance Safety, Teamwork and Learning. The Safety Technical Trainer will conduct initial and continuing training on various industrial hygiene topics: elevated work, lock-out tag-out, excavation, electrical safety, engineering of high risk work and additional safety topics as required. A successful candidate will be the subject matter expert on assigned topics and will be responsible for developing standard curriculum for use across the NNL program, recurring training programs, and retention and qualification exams. Additional job responsibilities will include: ?

  • Conduct field surveillances of work to validate knowledge retention and incorporate lessons learned into the continuing training cycle
  • Develop and conduct drills validating the knowledge of the trained workforce
  • Conduct peer reviews of development of materials and instructional delivery providing constructive feedback
  • Be trained on the current Learning Management System, input information and file appropriate documentation as necessary
  • Schedule training sessions
  • Job Requirements

    Senior:
    BS degree in technical or science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of six years of relevant experience; or
    MS degree in technical or science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of four years of relevant experience.

    Principal:
    BS degree in technical or science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of nine years of relevant experience; or
    MS degree in technical or science related field from an accredited college or university and a minimum of seven years of relevant experience.

    Job Preferred Skills

  • Formal Training Background including Military Instructors
  • Experienced Safety Professional, Certified Safety Professional (CSP) / Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
  • Supervisory experience over skilled trades
