The Safety Coordinator role is intended to be a leadership development position within the Commercial safety department. Theideal candidate has a growth mindset, wants to make an impact on the organization, and round out their skills in preparation for future leadership positions. This opportunity will quickly immerse a candidate in technical safety with a focus on developing strategic perspective, problem analysis and solution development, and managing relationships/fostering collaboration. The candidate will bring a fresh perspective to the safety department with a focus on championing safety throughout the organization.


  • Implement and manage safety programs, policies, and procedures which will reduce injuries and their associated costs, as well as meet all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct safety audits of facilities to pinpoint unsafe working conditions, behaviors and practices and develop sound recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Investigate injury reports and follow-up to ensure corrective action is taken.
  • Participate in safety-related training which is required to remain in compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Update management on the status of the Commercial safety management system through monthly/quarterly reports.
  • Strengthen the Companys ergonomics program.
  • Maintain an active role on safety projects, SMS Audits, and Safety Committee
  • Coordinate with manufacturing, engineering, etc., on the design and construction of new equipment, facilities and processes to ensure safe design.
  • Develop and recommend general accident prevention programs to include specific protective procedures and devices.
  • Travel up to 10%.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to work with team members from all levels across all departments within the Company.

  • Work experience in manufacturing environment
  • Must be aware of applicable safety regulations
  • Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Must possess computer skills
