ABOUT KRATOS TURBINE TECHNOLOGIES

SUMMARY
The Engine Systems Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, fabrication, integration, and verification of engine electrical and electronic systems. In this role you would represent the Mechatronics team during engine-level trades, interfacing with other teams including mechanical design and structures teams to determine system requirements and engine systems hardware & software integration. The engine systems EE will also be involved in the manufacturing, assembly and test of the engine system avionics through flight test operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
High-level, functional design and development of engine avionics systems for KTT gas turbine engines
Create and maintain detail design drawings of electronic and electrical interconnect systems
Perform daily management and design work for development and integration
Develop system and component requirements and interface documents
Create & maintain engine-level performance metrics including power and energy balance, link budgets, control system and instrumentation channel allocations, etc.
Work with cross-disciplinary teams to determine solutions for electromechanical component packaging, thermal and environmental management, electrical interfaces, system integration and test
Support system-level hardware-in-the-loop development and test
Support engine/vehicle integration operations and testing
Verification and validation process for engine avionics, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems
Experience and Skills
QUALIFICATIONS
Required

Minimum of a Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering
3-5 years of relevant avionics and/or gas turbine electrical systems design experience with responsibility for tracking, production, testing, and implementing multifaceted electronics systems.
Previous experience managing external supplier/contractor relationships.
Ability to support hands on system level lab integration and test.

Desired
10+ years of experience in Avionics development and integration
3-5+ years of experience with environmental testing thermal cycle, t-vac, vibration, shock, etc.
Experience with avionics system design
Experience with gas turbine engine control system avionics design, integration, test, and troubleshooting
Experience with aircraft gas turbine engine power control & distribution; energy storage, electro-mechanical machinery electric actuators, electric motor control;
Experience with electrical systems design, modeling, and simulation using OrCAD Capture, PSpice and MATLAB/Simulink
Experience performing trade-studies and sensitivity studies to determine preferred electrical design requirements and functionality
Experience developing and maintaining detailed multi-tier schedules and program-level budgets
Experience with high-level design and operational understanding of electronic components (power supplies, data acquisition systems, networks, RF systems)
Experience in industry standard root cause corrective analysis techniques, such as fault tree and fishbone analysis
