Indian Hills General Improvement District is currently accepting applications from qualified individuals for a Collections/Sewer Operations Operator OIT or Grade 1. This full-time position reports directly to the Wastewater Operations Supervisor with hours set at 7:30AM-4:00PM, Monday-Friday. This position must be available to be in the standby rotation for afterhours emergency calls. Responsibilities under the Collections/Sewer Operations Operator OIT or Grade 1 position include the maintenance, repair, and monitoring of wastewater plant operations, collections and effluent discharge for the assigned area and performs related work as required.
Salary is negotiable with experience and the OIT starting hourly wage is $17.63 and Grade 1 starting hourly wage is $19.36
Minimum requirements:
Wastewater Operator requires certification from the NDEP, State of Nevada as a OIT or Grade I Wastewater Treatment Operator. And one year of experience in the operation, repair and maintenance of wastewater treatment plants, is preferred. Candidates are expected to maintain those levels of Certification.
A valid state driver's license to cover operation of public works vehicles is required.
Collections/Sewer Operations Operator OIT or Grade 1 is a safety sensitive position subject to pre-employment and random drug and/or alcohol testing.
Preference in the recruitment process will be given to applicants:

Who have general knowledge in installing, repairing, cleaning and lubricating pumps and other production equipment, cleaning and maintaining District Collection systems, Wastewater facilities and surrounding grounds as needed.

Who have general knowledge in maintenance of designated plant equipment such as pumps, valves, electrical motors, chart records, collection lines, lift stations, metering devices and generators as directed by Supervisors. Maintaining plant operating records including daily logs and inputs data into computers and submits reports as required.
