Heelstone Renewable Energy ( Heelstone ) is a utility-scale solar developer headquartered in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with expertise in developing, originating, financing, constructing and operating solar photovoltaic projects. Heelstone is seeking a power marketing / commercial / contract origination professional with experience in sourcing, structuring, and executing revenue contracts. The candidate will lead Heelstone s revenue strategy in close collaboration with Heelstone s development and finance teams. Heelstone management is flexible on years of experience (minimum 5 years) and title. RESPONSIBILITIES Source energy, capacity, and REC contracts from corporates (e.g., Fortune 500), co-ops, munis, and utilities Contribute to strategy and market analysis with goal of identifying priority markets for origination opportunities Develop and maintain relationships with procurement desks at corporates, co-ops, munis, and utilities Utilize channels (e.g., brokers, associations, and conferences) to source offtake leads and opportunities Develop and maintain relationships with trading and hedging desks at corporates and financials Support negotiation of offtake agreements and project financing arrangements Regular collaboration and interaction with development, finance and legal teams Identify requests for proposal (RFP) opportunities and participate in responses to RFPs Attend industry conferences including speaking engagements Routine travel required KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS / TARGET CANDIDATE Proven track record of execution at a utility-scale solar development company Target candidate has at least 5 years of relevant experience in any of the following roles: commercial, power marketing, origination, structuring or business development Knowledge of power markets including PJM, MISO, SERC, SPP, and ERCOT Relationships with customers including corporates, financials, co-ops, munis, and utilities Deep understanding of contract structures and risk management including basis, congestion, and curtailment Experience leading a development team and/or development strategy is a plus Experience in battery storage is a plus PERSONAL QUALITIES Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team in a positive, collaborative manner Strong organization and project management skills Ability to work effectively under pressure in an entrepreneurial environment Attention to detail EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university required Master s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or similar field preferred Fluency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneDrive) Proficiency with Box, Dropbox, and related software Please send resumes to personnelheelstoneenergy.com
