Role Summary:The NDT Technical Specialist (I&LES) is responsible for conducting or directing critical tests or inspections and providing accurate and concise interpretation of results on gas or steam turbine generators. These inspections are carried out at fossil and nuclear power stations worldwide.
Essential Responsibilities:As the NDT Technical Specialist (I&LES) you will:
+ Significant travel is required. Must be willing to travel globally on short notice, and for extended periods of time during outage seasons. Overtime, including weekends and holidays is also required
+ Stay abreast of new technologies and test procedures within the organization and continually expand certifications and competencies
+ Create and maintain a personal commitment to EHS (safety) compliance, quality, and schedule
+ Support activities as required such as equipment maintenance, continuous improvement, and support of internal or external meetings
+ Be responsible for conducting or directing critical inspections and providing accurate and concise interpretation of results on gas and steam turbine generators utilizing manual or advanced NDT inspection systems
+ Develop technical training modules and execute training for hourly and variable workforce technicians as required
+ Support activities as required such as proposal support, equipment maintenance, process instruction revisions, new test development, interpretation of customer technical specifications, and develop productivity improvements
+ Associate's Degree in electronics, electrical or mechanical discipline, non-destructive technology, related discipline, or equivalent
+ Current or recent prior Level II or III certification in two or more of the following methods: UT, MT, ET, PT, VT
+ Ability and willing to travel and work globally on short notice, and for extended periods of time, including weekends and holidays
+ Ability and willingness to travel up to 80% as required
+ Must have a valid drivers license, eligible to work unrestricted in the USA (if not US citizen) and have ability to obtain a passport for international travel
+ Knowledge of design and construction of Gas, Steam, and Generator turbines
+ Experience using digital data acquisition systems and/or NDT analysis software tools
+ Power generation industry experience in the field of nondestructive and/or electro-mechanical testing
+ Experience in a customer service organization
+ Certifiable to Level II in the following methods: UT, ET, MT, PT, VT
+ Satisfy physical ability to meet all job requirements.
+ Ability to read and understand technical design drawings, schematics, etc
+ Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
+ Good communication skills, both verbal and written
+ Ability to work unsupervised, planning, organizing, and scheduling your activities as well as the activities of others on your job site
+ Gas, Steam, and Generator turbine operating/maintenance experience
+ Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, schedule, motivate and train others
+ Work effectively with minimal direction and supervision
