Establish and promote the maintenance of a safe, accident free and healthy work environment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.


+ Study and analyze industrial accident causes and hazards to health and safety for use by company personnel and outside agencies

+ Assist in formulating general safety policies and procedures to be followed by company, and by warehouse and show site personnel in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations

+ Consult with all departments on design and use of equipment, shops, fire prevention and safety program

+ Perform safety insepctions at organization facilities and show sites to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, recommends preventative measures, where indicated

+ Ensures the branch is conducting monthly safety audits of our facilities and show site.

+ Participate in the investigation of accidents and injuries and cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations

+ Compile and submit accident reports required by company and regulatory agencies

+ Oversee the administration of workers' compensation program for branch and the insurance carrier to cut down on lost employee time and cut back on unjust claims

+ Prepare and arranges safety material for distribution purposes

+ Represent the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs

+ Maintain safety files and records applicable to the position and the branch needs

+ Ensures the branch is maintaining DOT files and monitors compliance with the vehicle user guidelines

+ Work with Company Presidents, General Managers, and Operations on safety and loss control issues

+ Work with Human Resources and Operations to insure compliance with government regulations (i.e. OSHA, EPA and DOT) and company policies (i.e. drug testing)

+ Assist customers with filing claims for alleged damages or loss, by investigating and following up with claim adjusters as needed.

+ Ensures the branch is investigating and submitting motor vehicle accident claims and assist adjusters with investigations as needed

+ Conduct saftey training classes for company and union personnel.

+ Assist with business continuity planning as requested, including Freeman's Emergency Alert System for branch

+ Perform other duties as assigned.


+ Minimum three + years related experience and/or training

+ Ability to communicate effectively, clearly and professionally, verbally and in written form

+ Prior work experience in safety and loss prevention

+ Must be self-motivated, detail oriented and well organized

+ Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

+ Must maintain a professional appearance and attitude

+ Valid driver's license

+ Proven customer service skills


+ Bachelor's Degree
