POSITION SUMMARY:

The Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Technician is responsible for

KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversight of Health and Safety ensuring we are providing the safest work environment for all of our employees at all of our job site locations.
  • Keeping current with all government safety and health laws, standards, regulations and industrial hygiene.
  • Managing the Behavioral Safety, Observation and Dialog program.
  • Responsible for creating a standard cadence mechanism of conducting HSE audits.
  • Conducts incident investigations, using root cause analysis and correction action.
  • Lead employee training programs regarding HSE behaviors and compliance.
  • Work with Project Managers and Superintendents to performs risk assessments to evaluate hazardous conditions and practices to develop control solutions utilizing JSAs.
  • Inspects machinery, equipment, and working conditions in industrial or customer site locations where we are performing maintenance, service or installation to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Checks machines and equipment for accident prevention devices.
  • Observesemployee's PPEto determine use of prescribed safety equipment, such as glasses, helmets, goggles, respirators, and clothing.
  • Scopes out specified areas for fire-prevention equipment and other safety and first-aid supplies.
  • Tests working areas for noise, toxic, and other hazards, using decibel meter, gas detector, and light meter.
  • REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • OSHA 10/30 health and safety requirements pertaining to general industry and construction
  • MSHA certification is a plus
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Knowledgeable of ISO 14001 environmental management systems and environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead safety and environmental standards within the organization and teams
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead change through continuous improvement programs
  • Field service and construction experience necessary
  • EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree in HSE, Engineering or Business required or a combination of Experience and Education.
