Development and Production International (DPI) is responsible for Equinor s portfolio of producing assets and planned field developments in all countries outside Norway and Brazil. DPI's intent is to build and grow a competitive international portfolio - always safe, high value and low carbon. DPI s operates across six continents and implements rigorous safety standards, technological innovations and environmental awareness.
This is a new Safety and Sustainability Unit (SSU) role that actively works in the field with personnel to identify and mitigate health, safety and environmental (HSE) risks.
This position is integral in supporting the frontline execution of HSE programs and working in a manner that is proactive, preventative, and results-oriented.
Field coach for proactive tools and initiatives.
Work closely with SSU asset leader and other asset personnel on special projects.
Communicate, facilitate and support safety and sustainability adherence to the US Onshore work requirements, and/or requirements established for scopes of work.
Engage various contracted companies to support alignment in the planning and execution of their scope.
Proactively assess potential performance gaps related to regulatory requirements, internal work requirements, safe work practices, behaviors, equipment integrity, etc. and work directly with the line on preventative measures to address any identified gaps.
Provide support to the frontline with practical field deployment, implementation and interpretation of processes, systems, procedures and/or requirements.
Perform incident investigations with line superintendents and supervisors to assist with root cause analysis (RCA) process to support development of pertinent corrective and preventative actions.
Assist the line and on-scene personnel in emergency situations. Actively participate, support, and provide guidance during tactical emergency response efforts.
Aide in quality assurance of incident investigation data.
Execute and support assurance program at field locations and engage with line supervision to embed systematic corrective actions.
Position is based out of the Williston, ND office, has field wide responsibilities throughout western North Dakota and eastern Montana and operates under a standard Monday-Friday, non-rotational schedule
weekend availability may be required for incident investigation/emergency response
BS degree with preference on Safety Engineering, Safety Sciences, Occupational Safety and Health, or other related technical degree preferred but not required
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification preferred but not required
At least 3 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
Strong practical knowledge of safety regulations, standards and best practices
Experience in other high risk-industry with combination of education and/or credentials may be considered.
Relevant experience may compensate for formal qualifications.
3-5 years of relevant experience preferred.
Ability to live by our safety and security expectations.
Exceptional communication skills and ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the organization and with confidence, respect and integrity.
Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and deliver a variety of training topics in an effective way for the workforce.
Industrious approach with desire to spend consistent, significant amounts of times in field.
Ability to analyze information, solve problems, work in a team environment.
Ability to prioritize tasks and projects, manage time effectively and function effectively in stressful situations.
Awareness of production and cost business context.
Proficient skills in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
