GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Quality Control Lead position will assist company Leadership in the day-to-day operations for their assigned department. This position is a hybrid role and will leverage the skill set of the individual to meet daily responsibilities of the assigned department while performing assigned leadership tasks. This person will interact with a variety of departments in the value stream and will work to ensure all high level strategic objectives are met.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Partner with Production department to coordinate testing resource needs. Partner with the Planning department to ensure testing for customer orders is prioritized. Partner with Manufacturing to communicate to communicate any quality related observations. Partner with Quality Assurance department to maintain a complaint work environment according to company policies and procedures. Partner with Technical and Customer Service departments for product investigations and customer inquiries. Perform trend analysis of analytical data allowing for the determination of product consistency. Participate in new product commercialization activities. Understand applicable product specifications to ensure consistent product is used in our manufacturing process. Ensure and enforce the adherence to approved procedures. Create standard operating procedures (SOP) and work instructions (WKI) as needed. Present findings and technical data related to customer complaints and product consistency. Communicate any issues with stakeholders and work to resolve issues in timely manner. Evaluate raw materials and/or finished good products as assigned. Monitor work area for adherence to company safety policies and report violations as appropriate. Create, monitor and publish adherence to relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) Monitor adherence to ISO:9001 guidelines. Identify LEAN and Continuous Improvement opportunities for respective work area. Assist in the development and implementation of Quality standards and procedures Oversee training activities to ensure team is adequately trained Initiate non-conformance or out of specification reports as needed Other job duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor s Degree in science is required (minimum qualification) or;
  • Minimum of three (3) years of industry experience with specific knowledge and hands on experience of separation science techniques
  • Excellent writing, verbal communication and presentation skills required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint required
  • Proficiency with statistical software tools
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or GMP regulations required

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Responsible for maintaining an environment that is free from discrimination, intimidation, coercion or harassment, including sexual harassment. Work is performed primarily indoors in an office, laboratory, or warehouse setting; wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate; higher levels may be prevalent in laboratories or warehouse settings. While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to travel.

Responsible for the safety of their employees by creating and maintaining a safe work environment. New employees must be provided with safety instruction during the first two (2) weeks of employment and receive, as applicable, annual refresher safety training. Supervisors must operate equipment safely and report any unsafe work conditions or practices to their Management and the Safety Manager. Supervisors must insure that employees work in a safe manner. If there is an accident or near miss, they must submit a Supervisor's Incident Investigation Report to the Safety Manager and Human Resources Department within 24 hours of notification.
