CHA is currently seeking candidates for a Chief Water/Wastewater Engineer to support our growing Water/Wastewater business.
The chief engineer is responsible for the technical direction and leadership in the delivery of our water/wastewater services at CHA.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Direction: Responsible for providing recommendations to the Group Executives and Market Leaders on the strategic technical direction related to the delivery of our services. This will include research and development of new and innovative technologies and methodologies to support the Groups/Markets and technical group and to assist in the development of technical expertise in core market areas.
Professional Excellence: Responsible for assisting the implementation of the firms Professional Excellence Program. These responsibilities may include the formulation of specific practice areas, leading specific communities of practice, mentoring staff and providing an enhanced climate for learning and career development. The Chief Engineer shall develop into a national practice leader and provide input into the technical direction of that area of practice across the CHA enterprise.
Seek new client relationships: Responsible to assist Corporate Business Development and the Groups/Markets in the growth and sustainability of the market through on-going business development and marketing efforts geared toward new and innovative technologies, working closely with the individual Client Sectors and Regional Leaders, and staying abreast of emerging trends and initiatives in the market place. The Chief Engineer may also have Client Advocacy responsibilities (CLAD).
Project Qualifications and Proposals: Participate in the proposal development process to make sure we are putting forth the right technical solutions and leveraging the available technical knowledge within the organization. In addition, they will attend interviews and review project plans (scope, schedule, and fee) in the Technical Group, which are within their area of expertise, to ensure that they reflect a sound planned approach to the project.
Project Execution: Be available as a technical resource to assist staff with technical problems and issues as they arise in the execution of major projects and to assist in technical QA/QC.
Development of Corporate Brand: Actively participate in conferences and workshops (as a presenter), and encourage and support the development of papers, articles, and presentations, as well as participation in technical organizations, all with the goal of enhancing the technical image and competency of our staff and corporate brand.
EDUCATION AND LICENSURE
A Bachelor s degree is required, Masters preferred.
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
15+ years of relevant experience.
Knowledge of principles of engineering and engineering design experience.
Proven experience and knowledge with the delivery and construction of multi discipline water / wastewater projects.
Must possess exceptional organizational and time management skills with an obsessive attention to detail.
Must be able to collaborate and bridge the communications gap between the engineering team, service technicians, business managers, and clients, interfacing with each.
Must possess technical acumen and the ability to troubleshoot on a variety of projects.
