Metering & Regulation Mechanical Engineer

The M&R Engineer has many responsibilities. The M&R Engineer frequently coordinates with other internal departments including; Operations, Supply Chain, Project Management, Project Controls, Real Estate and Permitting, Customer Account Managers, Customer Deliverability, Meter Technology Center, Warehousing, and many others.??


Great coordination with internal and external groups and / or service providers is a must


Examples of this work may include replacement of a specific component at a station or City Gate, or may be as complex as a rebuild of an entire odorizer or station that has contract engineering, design and construction services required.

Skills

  • Applies an intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields
  • Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods
  • Represents the organization in meetings to resolve important questions
  • Requires the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices of his/her field and related sciences and disciplines.
  • Knowledge of the design, construction, or operation of natural gas facilities including regulation facilities and odorizer facilities
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, Projects and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of planning and permitting as they relate to discipline specific design and construction
  • Experience in reviewing designs to assure compliance with engineering design, applicable codes, constructability, industry and CE standards
  • Experience in procurement of engineered material, equipment and professional services
  • Ability to independently evaluate, select & apply engineering theory.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in utility operations
  • Application of utility business model
  • Ability to solve complex problems; taking new perspectives using existing solutions
  • Skill in supervisory practices/application
  • Knowledge and application of utility trends

Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program and 3 years of engineering experience; consideration may also be given to candidates who have extensive technical experience who may not meet the bachelor?s degree requirement
