Lead Discipline Electrical Engineer Candidate will be the electrical discipline lead for many of the site s capital and expense projects. Primary responsibilities for this position include filling the engineering electrical design function to ensure compliance with company standards, applicable codes and regulations. Candidate will work closely with project manager to complete planning, cost estimate development, equipment design, and construction of site projects to meet established timelines, scope and cost requirements. Responsible for all projects assigned include:

  • Leverage site and group resources to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Provide frequent communication concerning project status and scheduling requirements.
  • Perform assigned or initiated engineering studies as needed.
  • Propose solutions to engineering-related problems.
  • Makes or assist in presentations of engineering-related projects to all levels of management.
  • Render sound engineering decisions, under potential time constraints, with limited supervisory input.
  • Assist in developing project staffing plans and resource forecasting.
  • Work with project team and plant personnel to address electrical issues that may arise in the plant.
  • Capable of acting as a project manager for small to midsized capital projects as required.
  • Act as an owner s representative for electrical construction to ensure work scope meets code and project needs

Required:

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering
  • Previous experience in managing project workflow
  • Proven safety track record
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of experience in the electrical engineering discipline, including substantive work-lead or involvement in the management of engineering-related projects
  • Professional Registration (P. E.) is desirable for Alabama
  • Previous experience in a foundry or heavy industrial environment
  • Electrical construction experience
