Responsible for ensuring the safety of all employees and division compliance with all local, state and federal environmental, health and safety (EHS) laws and regulations.

Required Education & Experience

  1. Bachelors Degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or related field; or equivalent education and experience.
  2. Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Environmental, Health & Safety experience in the automotive manufacturing industry.
  2. Three to five years of experience
  3. OSHA Certification

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Daily plant floor walks to monitor housekeeping and record any safety-related issues.
  2. Conduct and/or coordinate training related to EHS.
  3. Identify and manage personal protective equipment selection and use.
  4. Handle work related injuries to include first aid & clinic authorization.
  5. Accident / Incident Investigation and follow-up, ensuring proper documentation is complete to include accident report, root cause analysis and corrective action.
  6. Report all recordable injuries to workers compensation, follow-up and review cases as required to close claims in an efficient and timely manner.
  7. OSHA recordkeeping and reporting
  8. Document and maintain records relating to ISO-14000 and IATF-16949 requirements, including MSDS system.
  9. Conduct noise and air monitoring tests, utilizing specialized testing/monitoring equipment.
  10. Champion of the Safety Committee
  11. Communicate verbally and electronically with various departments and management to update on safety related items including injuries, safety committee findings and corrective action log, etc.
  12. Other duties as assigned.
