Perform site visits to document existing conditions, including periodic travel throughout North America.
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, isometrics, process & instrumentation diagrams, specifications, and system operating procedures.
Develop bidding and construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
Apply knowledge of engineering principles to research, design, and evaluate mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements and generate technical reports.
Confer with design team and project manager to incorporate design information and client standards into the construction documents.
Develop system and equipment layouts including specification and placement of fans, blowers, ductwork, pumps, compressors, piping, valves, flanges, joints, and fittings.
Design of industrial mechanical systems: Cooling water, cooling wind/air, compressed air, oil separation, batch material handling, combustion, steam, exhaust gas, domestic water, process waste, and lubrication. Experience with glass manufacturing a plus.
Develop isometrics, schematics, and process & instrumentation diagrams.
Oversee a group of mechanical engineers and designers. Responsible for QA plan for discipline, mentoring staff, manages in-house standards, identifies personnel skillsets and training needs, performance reviews.
Interact with clients regarding technical issues. Develop and maintain relationships with key client contacts as part of the business development strategy for the service center.
Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent of education and experience. Professional Engineering license required. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in industrial process utilities.
