Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform site visits to document existing conditions, including periodic travel throughout North America.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, isometrics, process & instrumentation diagrams, specifications, and system operating procedures.
  • Develop bidding and construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Apply knowledge of engineering principles to research, design, and evaluate mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements and generate technical reports.
  • Confer with design team and project manager to incorporate design information and client standards into the construction documents.
  • Develop system and equipment layouts including specification and placement of fans, blowers, ductwork, pumps, compressors, piping, valves, flanges, joints, and fittings.
  • Design of industrial mechanical systems: Cooling water, cooling wind/air, compressed air, oil separation, batch material handling, combustion, steam, exhaust gas, domestic water, process waste, and lubrication. Experience with glass manufacturing a plus.
  • Develop isometrics, schematics, and process & instrumentation diagrams.
  • Oversee a group of mechanical engineers and designers. Responsible for QA plan for discipline, mentoring staff, manages in-house standards, identifies personnel skillsets and training needs, performance reviews.
  • Interact with clients regarding technical issues. Develop and maintain relationships with key client contacts as part of the business development strategy for the service center.
  • Required Experience

    Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university or equivalent of education and experience. Professional Engineering license required. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in industrial process utilities.
