GENERAL DESCRIPTION PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The candidate will provide support and expertise in the areas of GFSI compliance, document management and routing, FSMA compliance, oversee HACCP/Food Safety Plans, manage relationship with consumer affairs and lead teams focused on driving down plant controllable issues. They will also manage the visual finished product spec program, lead product reviews and be super user for the quality management solution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Maintain and support Food Safety programs: HACCP, FSMA, SSOP, Quality, Food Safety Plan, etc. programs
  • Assist in reviewing data and initiates action plans when trends indicate need
  • Manage the consumer affairs data and provide insightful trends
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the visual product standards
  • Assist in the finished product reviews
  • Delivers training to manufacturing site and corporate personnel on Food Safety Programs.
  • Implements strategies to ensure conformance to GFSI and FSMA standards
  • Works with all manufacturing sites, raw material and packaging sites and warehouses to promote food safety requirements.
  • Manages the Document routing/approval and storage programs
  • Oversee the quality digital management solution for the corporate office
  • OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AS REQUESTED:
  • Interacts with manufacturing site personnel, Microbiologists, Chemists, Engineers, and Management
  • Writes SSOPs
  • Knowledge of process control and general food manufacturing principles
  • Excellent training and presentation skills and the ability to explain food safety concepts to those not specialized in the field.
  • Sets priorities, utilizes and coordinates resources, and manages projects from start to finish with little or no supervision.
  • Effectively works on a team, both as a leader and member.
  • QUALIFICATIONS:
  • S. Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology or related field.
  • Five years experience in with a food manufacturing company.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, GMPs, Food Safety, and Quality.
  • HACCP, SQF, PCQI Certification
  • Must be able to work in an environment with free-roaming companion pets.
  • PREFERRED SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Knowledge of process control and general food manufacturing principles
  • Effective written and verbal skills.
  • Excellent training and presentation skills and the ability to explain food safety concepts to those not specialized in the field.

  • Excellent training skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to travel 10 to 20% of time.
  • Pet parent preferred
