**Lab & Offices HSE Manager Safety**
The position is an Lab & Offices HSE Manager Safety who assists in the development/implementation/management of comprehensive safety programs that address personnel safety and property protection in compliance with OSHA and corporate requirements for STL and other facility and lab operations in NA. Daily facility support is primarily for the STL site operations and approximately 3-4 other sites. This position could support other NA sites as needed. This position supports the emergency response program, serves as a primary contact for HSE reviews of both small and large scale projects managing hazardous building materials (e.g., asbestos, lead, chromium, etc.), serves as a reviewer for Research Process Hazard Analyses, supports high hazard program development (such as elevated work/fall protection, electrical safety, hexavalent chromium, paint abatement, etc.), and performs other HSE duties as needed.
**YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Develop and implement safety program including evaluation of high hazard compliance programs (e.g.; elevated work/fall protection, electrical safety, hexavalent chromium, paint abatement, etc.) site procedures to assure personnel, contractor and facility safety;
+ Provide general HSE support for all aspects of facility and research operations including but not limited to equipment assessments, near miss reviews, chemical safety, as well as manage other HSE compliance requirements;
+ Lead HSE reviews for Facilities projects (review of construction documents, planning, construction and renovation projects and work in progress audits) for small and large scale, technical projects. Specific focus would support managing asbestos abatement and other unique hazards presented by facility renovation/modification (e.g., lead, chromium, etc.);
+ Participates in the STL site emergency response programs including serving as primary emergency responder and incident commander for site incidents in the STL site emergency response team;
+ Conduct incident investigations, root cause analysis and trend analysis, identify corrective action and track corrective action completion;
+ Perform detailed Research Process Hazard Analyses for high hazard operations based on STL requirements (i.e. Dicamba, glyphosate, biologics) as needed;
+ Manage the internal HSE inspection programs (research and facility operations) for continuous improvement including the HSE Inspection Committee, managing data, metrics and reporting, ensuring corrective actions are closed, etc.;
+ Conduct HSE training for onboarding new employees and participates in internal HSE committees as needed.
**WHO YOU ARE**

+ BS in Safety or related field of engineering, science or other technical discipline;
+ 5+ years experience in managing HSE compliance programs;
+ Experience in dealing with a large multifunctional location with emphasis on R&D/office environments is preferred;
+ Thorough knowledge of OSHA and general working knowledge of EPA regulations required;
+ Operates effectively in a team environment both within HSE and broadly across multifunctional groups;
+ Position requires excellent communication capabilities both verbally and written, computer skills and experience working with databases;
+ Outcomes focused, organized and able to manage large complex projects with the ability to move swiftly to achieve objectives;
+ Demonstrated leadership and strategic planning skills;
+ Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written with all levels of the organization with emphasis on the HSE community and management;
+ Effective organization, coordination and project management skills;
+ Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and lead in a highly matrixed environment.
+ MS in Safety or related field of engineering, science or other technical discipline preferred;
+ Certified Safety Professional strongly preferred;
+ Experience with OSHA VPP sites also preferred.
