The Fleet Safety Technician will audit vehicles, complete and coordinate repairs (in-house or with third party shops) and drive the fleet to compliance and roadworthiness. The Fleet Safety Technician position requires advanced maintenance skills, vendor and/or technician coordination experience in an automotive dealership or equivalent, a strong mechanical background, and excellent customer service skills.

  • Verify and address all digitally captured maintenance and safety issues
  • Evaluate and follow procedure to ground unsafe vehicles
  • Perform and/or organize preventative maintenance and non-PM repairs
  • Perform regular fleet inspections to ensure digital and physical status are in-sync
  • Complete work orders and vehicle safety checks in line with company requirements
  • Accountable for vendor and technician coordination at multiple locations to meet service timelines
  • Manage and continue to develop strong customer partnership with our clients
  • Perform administrative functions including but not limited to scanner downloads, repair order maintenance and compliance documentation
  • Maintain accurate records; prepare clear, concise reports.
  • Communicate with fleet maintenance manager to ensure operation's and company's needs are met
  • Provide updates on fleet status, costs, quality, uptime performance and improvement recommendations
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures; follows-up to ensure compliance with inspection reports

  • Ability to work Monday Friday 1st and/or 2nd shift
  • Prior technician/mechanic experience is required
  • Lead or supervisory experience desired
  • Has the mobility to move between locations and parking lots and be exposed to the elements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (documentation, communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete required training.
  • Strong computer skills/phone/ leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with client and leadership; provide exceptional customer service to meet their needs and support their scorecard goals and objectives
  • Must be multi-tasked oriented
  • Must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • High level of initiative, self-management, and accountability
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workloads
  • Physically able to perform repairs
